When is clean, clean enough? Sometimes a fibre or dust release event happens. Following such an event, the fibres/dust would no longer be swirling around in the air (unless very recently disturbed) and therefore not be captured on air sampling media. Instead, they would be lurking on horizontal surfaces waiting to be disturbed so they can once again be released into the air.
Peak technicians collect surface samples to identify type and quantity of chemicals, fibres/dust lurking on these surfaces. Once identified, the surfaces can be safely cleaned. Surfaces can be tested for:
Asbestos fibres
Surface asbestos contamination assessment and worker exposure risk monitoring
Lead, Mould spores, Mercury
Cleanup following mercury spill
