An air clearance is required upon completion of various asbestos, lead and mould removal projects before remediated area can be released to other trades or unprotected persons. As with air monitoring, air clearance sampling is sometimes performed to satisfy internal OH&S requirements or to alleviate staff exposure safety concerns.
A visual clearance inspection is required to confirm the removal of all hazardous materials following abatement activities, prior to re-occupancy or demolition. Regulatory authorities required third-party clearance inspections be performed by persons with detailed knowledge of the scope of the project and the hazardous materials being abated.
